Where do the many different elements of the periodic table come from?
Shri Mataji explains in ,,In a Conversation with Doctors 10.07.1982 in London’’ where the elements hydrogen, oxygen and carbon, which are important for life, come from.
Shri Mataji: No, no, carbon. First the Mother Earth creates carbon. You see, [if She puts]… How carbon is created by Mother Earth, it's very interesting. She does it and producing carbon within Herself and that carbon becomes the holding bondage between hydrogen and oxygen. And that's how the life starts. Sahaja Yogi: Then Mother Earth, Mataji, must then be like the Adi Devi. Shri Mataji: Of course.
,,So Hydrogen comes to us from Moon’’
Sahaja Yogi: And then likewise is the oxygen from the sun? Shri Mataji: From the sun.
The claim that hydrogen, oxygen and carbon originate from the Earth, Moon and Sun, respectively, or are produced by these celestial bodies, does not correspond to the current scientific understanding of the origin of the elements. The chemical elements are the building blocks of matter and cannot be newly created through ordinary chemical processes. In order to form a new element, the atomic nucleus must instead change. Such nuclear processes take place, for example, inside stars. Hydrogen is a special case: most of it was already formed during the early phase of the universe through primordial nucleosynthesis shortly after the Big Bang. Stars form heavier elements from hydrogen through nuclear fusion. Carbon, for example, is formed in stars through the so-called triple-alpha process. In this process, three helium nuclei are combined to form a carbon nucleus. This process takes place under the extreme temperatures and pressures inside stars. Oxygen is also formed through nuclear fusion in stars, particularly through the fusion of carbon and helium. During later stages in the development of massive stars, even heavier elements can also be formed. When stars release material into space at the end of their development – for example through stellar winds or in a supernova – the previously formed elements enter the interstellar medium. Our solar system and the Earth, among other things, later formed from this material. The Earth therefore did not itself “produce” its carbon through a geological process. The carbon that is present on Earth today ultimately comes from material produced by earlier generations of stars. Thus, the scientific explanation differs considerably from Shri Mataji's statements in the conversation with doctors on 10 July 1982.
So hydrogen comes to us from moon. [Aside: He's going to Arneau.] See [now/how], the earth was created and was first taken close to the moon. So it froze. And when it froze then they brought it [up/away] because the moon is the cause of freezing, brought it closer to the sun. Then it got the oxygen in it. When it got oxygen it was brought in the center. So it had oxygen and hydrogen according to the proportions needed to create the life. Sahaja Yogi: Mother, they say the moon was flung out from the earth. Shri Mataji: Flung out from the earth? In a way it is flung out, but that part of moon was frozen. In a way, I mean, you see, flunging out also is a relative term. Sahaja Yogi: Which was flung out of which we do not know. Shri Mataji: That's the question. Which came first is the “but”, that's… Sahaja Yogis: Yes, yes. Shri Mataji: So the moon, the earth was closer to the moon first, and then it separated. Very close. It sucked actually hydrogen and that's how it has no temperature. Or where is the hydrogen coming from? What is the source of hydrogen? Sahaja Yogi: You said the moon, Mataji. Shri Mataji: Hmmm, moon because I said it. It's the earth because earth has sucked that Hydrogen from the moon. Sahaja Yogi: They said that the sun is ninety per cent hydrogen, Mataji. Shri Mataji: It is. It is ninety per cent. But the hydrogen that is on the Mother Earth is from the moon. Sahaja Yogi: And then likewise is the oxygen from the sun? Shri Mataji: From the sun. Sahaja Yogi: Then water is a combination of left and right side. Another Sahaja Yogi: And the evolution is a combination of all four. Sahaja Yogi: And, and proteins are… Shri Mataji: No, no, carbon.
